Test Driving

Shad test driving Lawson's stroller around the house...I hope he won't drive on two wheels when he gets here! He is going to be an amazing father. :)

Crazy Thrills

Why do boys have weird thrills? Seriously? For example, we had a 4th of July party at our house this past weekend and Shad was excited for William, our brother-in-law, to get here so they could....blow up a giant pumpkin. I know so exciting for the girls. They carried the pumpkin to our burn pile and since the seeds were removed they filled it up with water. When the stage was set they played Paper-Rock-Scissors to see who gets the honor of pulling the trigger...William won. So Shad's job was to video it...yes, they recorded the explosion. It was also photographed.

H-O-T

It's hot. We haven't had RAIN in 5 weeks at our house....the rain literally goes around our house. It will thunder, rain in town, BUT no rain here. Our water bill is outrageous! I'm going to have to start selling snowcones on the side or something... :) or at least making them! Blue is so funny. He wants to be outside, but it's HOT! So he stays in his pool...and when we gets tired of holding his head up, he'll rest his chin on the side of the pool. Hilarious! I love when he barks at noises, but stays in the pool. It's like he is saying, " Don't make me get my 100 pound self out of this pool."

Sharing Delivery FRIDAY!

When we were building our house, I had a couple of melt downs on paint color. Paint color was a huge issue...stupid, I know. I hate to admit this, but I remember sitting on the floor by my fake table that our builder made me with about 20 shades of blues for our kitchen/hallway...I cried and cried. There was fabric and paint samples all over that fake table. It was a very BLUE day.

Do you see the fake table? It's the square laying in the floor...sad. I'm very visual. Bless our builder.
So, when it came time for paint color for a baby's room that wouldn't have a baby living in there for years..........I was at a total loss. So after looking at baby bedding for a little girl or a sweet little boy, I made a choice based on bedding that I liked. Not bedding that I planned on using...just stuff I liked.
The search was on when we found out we were having a boy...for the perfect bedding or fabric. I knew I wanted black furniture because of the room color, but boy's bedding mostly has browns in it! I searched and searched. And I finally found the most perfect fabric and had it made (I made the curtains). Friday my parents were planning on bring down the chair that I ordered. It came in earlier that week, and I was totally pumped when the lady called Friday morning with the great news that the bedding was really too! So I was a happy girl on delivery Friday!

I'm in love with this chair...it rocks, swivels, and reclines. And it's orange. ;)

Bed skirt- the polka-dots are the same as the curtains. I think it's my favorite.

Blanket- and it's also the same fabric as the bumper pads which has red ties. I also have more fabric for me to make a big blanket that will look the same as this one for when he gets bigger.

I'm really excited that it's in and that I can start making pillows and art! Yay, for delivery Friday!

curtains

Well, I'm getting a little excited! I finished my first BIG project- Lawson Allen Schipke's curtains! They are super cute. I love them. I seriously think that this was the first time in 9 windows that Shad hasn't complained about hanging curtains. :) He does have a melting heart... we high-fived after he hung them.

broken leg

Ava and Audrey

Little Ava has had a tough few weeks. It all started with a possible broken leg at the emergency room Memorial Day weekend. The doctors put a cast on her little leg and an appointment for the following week was made for another doctor to decide if it was broken or not. So to make a long story short, she wore two different cast for around two weeks. Well, her foot was swollen when they put the second cast on, and apparently when the swelling went down her heel starting rubbing against the cast. It was rubbing it raw- to the bone- inside the cast. Yes, ouch. You know anyone that has a broken leg will say, "My foot hurts." But a two year old can't really explain that it's because it rubbing against the cast! But the scary thing is that she really didn't walk on it that much! She did really well keeping it propped up, and she either wanted to picked up or she would crawl everywhere. So, I can't image what it would look like if she did walk on it! Anyways, the doctors are calling the raw spot an ulcer. And when she went back to the doctor this week they were talking about doing a possible skin graft! So moms beware!

Grrr's celebration

We were in Tupelo this past weekend for Father's Day, and for the one year anniversary of Grrr's accident. We celebrated with great grilling and cooking, of course, because that's what we do in the south. We let Grrr doing the grilling on his special day; he is the Green Egg grill master. We are so happy that he is alive, can walk, and is active after is TEN surgeries. We are all BLESSED.

We had a few sweet little girls at the celebration too. Big sister, Ava, loves Audrey and her cousin, Cait. Audrey is on the left and Cait is on the right. I'm not sure how this is going to work when our little boy arrives and meets all of his girl cousins.

24 weeks

Well, it's swimsuit season. And my suit has changed...well, my public suit has changed. Don't come to my house while I'm doing yard work unannounced...I'll be sporting my old suits. I'm 24 weeks and really growing! I go to the doctor today, and I'll hopefully get a great report.

beaching it

I've been staying at the same condo at Navarre Beach since I was zero. Seriously. It's beautiful, peaceful, and not busy. Just what I love! We left Saturday morning, and the doggies had to be at the Pensacola Pet Resort by 9:30 to check in. We could not wait to get to those white sandy beaches! We ate, swam, enjoyed the beautiful gulf, searched for shells, and relaxed. I wished we were still there and that it would remain beautiful. I'm sure when we go back in July it won't be as beautiful.

On the pier at Navarre Beach. FYI, it's the longest pier in the Gulf of Mexico. We got to watch some fisherman. We saw a sea turtle, a couple of dolphins, several sharks, and some HUGE sting-ray (like same size of a hood of a car).

Shad found me a friend.

Mom, dad, and Shad searching for shells. Mom and Shad were the serious shell hunters. Shad was a little timid after being bit by a crab while shell hunting. The crab grabbed hold of each side of his middle figure...and cut the skin. Eeeeee!

These are a FEW of the shells they found. Gosh, I bet we have a 100, and they were being very selective. I'm going to make something with them. Mom found a HUGE one, but I don't have a picture of it. Shad wouldn't leave until he found a "better" one than hers...so THANK GOD he found the white spiky one! These are all a good size...compare them to the shovel.

love

Shad and I have been together since September 7, 2000. Yes, I remember the date. After all you remember dates when your life is changed. We actually dated a little in high school...we went to 9th grade homecoming together, and our senior prom... but nothing too serious, so I don't count that. September 7th is the day we started dated and never looked back....We were engaged on September 2, 2005 which was just a few days after Katerina. He asked me to marry him at the park that we went to weekly. It was so special and so us.

We married on June 10th, four years ago today. The day was beautiful.
I can't describe how much he means to me. He is so loving, dedicated, smart, a problem solver and handyman, caring, strong, and the list could go on forever. I love that he takes care of things for me, is a true gentleman, calls me "love", finds me to kiss my head everyday before and after work, is a provider, but takes time daily to hold me. My heart truly melts when I see him.

We planted a Natchez Crepe Myrtle for our anniversary gift to each other. Now we can watch our tree grow each year just like our love. Corny but true. We are planning on taking a picnic tonight. I couldn't be any happier.

Shad seeing me for the first time on our wedding day.
