Baby Shower

I HAVE SOME AMAZING FRIENDS. PERIOD.
I had a baby shower on Saturday in Tupelo, and it was very overwhelming to feel this much love for Shad and I and love of everyone welcoming sweet baby Lawson. It was truly amazing. I wanted to share a few things from the shower, and thank everyone for making this day so very special. We received the CUTEST things, BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE things, and MOST USEFUL things for Lawson! When I got home Thursday, I finally got to go in Lawson's room and look at everything again.

They spoil me; they got this cake from my cake lady, Rita. HA! It was SOOOO CUTE and DELICIOUS.A sweet Paty gown with his name monogrammed. Seeing his name makes me melt.

Look at Kacy's face...love it, and I love this owl. The owl serves as a pallet to lay Lawson on. It's super cute.

This was the last gift I opened. And as you can see the big tears rolled down my face... the gift is from my grandmother and is a cake knife with Lawson Allen Schipke engraved on it. Her card said, that she knows that she won't be here on Earth forever and that she and my grandad will not be here for all of Lawson's birthdays, graduations, and for his wedding. But that she wants me to use this engraved knife at all of his small and big events, so that they can be apart of his events in his life... ****

and when he is older and finds the love of his life, just like we did... she wants me to get his bride's name engraved on the opposite side and would like the knife to be used to cut his cake at the wedding. I cried, and cried....and tears are still rolling down my face now.

It was such a blessed day.

Daddy's Ride

My dad's first car was a 1966 Dodge Charger. He was a sophomore in high school, and I think it was too fast of a car for 10th grade boy! Throughout my childhood, I've heard the stories about this car, and how he wished he could find one. Well, a couple of weeks ago, he found one in south Mississippi near the Louisiana line. Mom and dad loaded up to go look at it in person...just to say they did. Of course, on the journey back home dad talked about the car and mom and dad revisited their high school dating memories. I got a call a few days later from dad telling me that he was coming to stay with us, and asking me to ride with him to pick it up! It was exciting! It's in really good condition and of course, it goes really fast!
This inside pic is HORRIBLE! The window was up and the glare really takes away from the car's beauty.

High School

Courtney, Me, Kacy, Kristy, Kinney, and Morgan

So, this past weekend we had our 10 YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION! We had a great time. We started the night with dinner at The Grill to celebrate Kacy's 28th birthday, and then headed to The Summit Center for more food, drinks, and a fun night of dancing. The band was good and loud! Which shows I'm getting older! :)

Test Driving

Shad test driving Lawson's stroller around the house...I hope he won't drive on two wheels when he gets here! He is going to be an amazing father. :)

Crazy Thrills

Why do boys have weird thrills? Seriously? For example, we had a 4th of July party at our house this past weekend and Shad was excited for William, our brother-in-law, to get here so they could....blow up a giant pumpkin. I know so exciting for the girls. They carried the pumpkin to our burn pile and since the seeds were removed they filled it up with water. When the stage was set they played Paper-Rock-Scissors to see who gets the honor of pulling the trigger...William won. So Shad's job was to video it...yes, they recorded the explosion. It was also photographed.
